Process of Buying a Puppy
Welcoming a Cairn Terrier puppy is a decision that lasts for many years, which is why the match between the puppy and its future family is at least as important as breeding itself.
At the Force of Hell kennel, puppies are therefore not simply “chosen” or reserved. Every effort is made to find each puppy a home whose lifestyle, experience and expectations best match that particular dog’s personality.
1. Inquiry and waiting list
Families interested in a puppy can be added to the waiting list.
Maintaining a waiting list is important because it allows contact to be made with those who have previously expressed interest before the planned litters, and it can be confirmed whether a puppy is still relevant for them.
Being placed on the waiting list does not in itself mean an automatic puppy reservation. Its purpose is to know, during planning, who remains a seriously interested future owner.
2. Contact regarding a planned or newborn litter
When planning a litter becomes current, or when the puppies are born, contact is made with those interested who still wish to have a Cairn Terrier puppy.
At this point, it becomes more important to get to know the future owner’s life and ideas. Topics include the environment the dog would live in, the family’s previous experience, whether there are children or another dog, how much time can be devoted to the puppy, and for what purpose a Cairn Terrier is being sought.
3. Choosing the right puppy
The puppies’ personalities gradually become clear around 5–6 weeks of age.
Their temperament, activity level, prey drive, curiosity, manageability, courage, and also how they react to new situations and stimuli are closely observed.
For this reason, choosing a puppy here is not based solely on colour or sex.
It does not always happen that the future owner simply picks a puppy based on photos. As a breeder, there is a sense of responsibility to ensure that the puppy’s personality and the family’s lifestyle truly fit together.
4. Getting to know each other and finalizing
Before choosing a puppy, if possible, the future owners are met in person, and of course the family can also get to know the puppies, the mother dog and the kennel environment.
The puppy’s move to its new owner is always preceded by individual consultation.
The reservation and selection of the puppy only become final if the conditions are suitable for both parties.
5. Reservation and contract
The reservation of the selected puppy takes place as agreed. When the puppy moves to its new owner, a breeder’s contract is signed, which sets out important conditions related to responsible animal keeping and the puppy’s future life.
The purpose of the contract is not only to provide a legal framework, but primarily to protect the interests of the puppy.
6. Preparing for the puppy’s arrival
Before the move, the owners receive all the necessary information about feeding, keeping, grooming, training the puppy and about the first period together.
The puppy moves to its new home at an age appropriate for it, with proper veterinary care, vaccinations, microchip, documents and the necessary starter kit.
It is important that the owners do not just take home a puppy, but start their life together well-prepared.
7. Contact after the move
The breeder’s responsibility does not end when the puppy leaves for its new home.
There is a genuine interest in how the puppy develops, what its temperament is like, how it feels in its new family, and the puppies’ lives are gladly followed later on as well.
Even after the move, owners can get in touch with any questions, whether about training, nutrition, grooming, coat care or simply any situation that may arise.
Our Goal
For us, a successful puppy sale is not simply when a puppy finds a new owner.
We are truly satisfied only when the right puppy finds the right family, and a long, happy life together can begin!
This is why every interested person is encouraged to get in touch even before a planned litter, to get to know the Force of Hell breeding philosophy, and to talk about whether there is a real match.
